In March of 1924, the old Church of Christ caught fire in the early morning hours and burnt to the ground.  Foster Fuller was the church pastor at the time.  When he realized the church was on fire he grabbed a piece of wallpaper, the only thing he could find at the time, and sketched the event on the back of it.  Today the painting hangs in the church's fellowship hall.
