The following sketch of Martin D. Kingston was printed in an 1892 issue of the Bangor Advance: "Martin D. Kingston is to the manor born, first seeing the light of day at his father's farm one mile south of here in 1849. Received a good common school education and passed his early life among the stumps and trees of a new, wooded country. Tiring of these, in 1879 he located and improved a splendid farm near Neighly, Nebraska. There he prospered, but the death of his wife left him with a family of bright little girls who needed the care of nearer relatives and better school facilities. He returned to Bangor three years ago and a little later went into the grocery business, gradually enlarging his stock and building up a substantial, lucrative trade and enjoys the reputation of being a fair and courteous dealer." Mr. Kingston was married and had at least 2 or 3 girls. We need to know more about the Kingston Family. |
