Oscar Karmsen established his drugstore in the east side of Miller's Opera House in 1901.  He was a native of Greenville, MI.  His pharmaceutical education was received at the Michigan College of Medicine and Surgery, in Detroit.  Before coming to Bangor he was a druggist in Detroit and Alpena.  In the summer of 1911 he opened a soda fountain in his store and sold his own manufactured ice cream.  Mr. Karmsen was married and had at least one son, also named Oscar.  We would like to know what happened to the Karmsen Family.
