Pictured above is a photo of J.P. Ryan (gentleman on the left) and his Family.  Mr. Ryan owned or ran a department store in Bangor for almost 20 years starting in 1901.  He lived in the house on the southeast corner of Monroe Street and Morrison Street.  To the left of him is his wife Zella.  The Ryan children are; Richard-standing barefoot, Patricia-sitting in the chair, and Eileen-to the right of her sister.  Zella's mother Caroline and step-father Thomas Brimacombe are the couple standing behind the children.  Caroline was originally married to Thomas Harvey before he died, another prominent Bangor citizen and veteran of the Civil War.  The Harvey Family owned the home before Mr. Ryan.

Eileen Ryan is the little girl in this photo.  She is standing in front of her home on the southeast corner of Monroe Street and Morrison Street.  Many older citizens today will recognize this house as the former office of Dr. Gano.  It was probably built sometime in the later 1800's.  Earlier this spring it was torn down to possibly make way for future stores.  Again, another one of Bangor's landmarks has disappeared forever.
