Parades were always a big event in Bangor.  This photo is looking northwest on Monroe St. from the railroad tracks. We have pictures of parades taken from one end of town to the other and in time periods ranging from the late 1800's to present.  The most documented parade of all was the one that celebrated the end of WWI.  We have several pictures of many civic groups involved in the event.
