Because lumber in the Elevator is actual size, we decided to cut our own stock.

A 2X4 in the Elevator is actually 2 inches by 4 inches, as are 2X6 and 2X8. 

The rafters that have rotted in the roof are 26 feet long.  We needed some tall trees.

Fairly large tulip poplars were cut and hauled out of the woods for milling. 

When the process is finished, we will have several thousand board feet of lumber.  It will be stacked for use this fall.

Although the Elevator seems to be sitting idle, there are things happening behind the scenes.
